These HDDs are intended to enable manufacturers to make use of the newest components and operating systems to create high-performance, high-capacity, and power-efficient systems. This 3TB drive also has a 7200 rpm rotational speed and a 64MB cache to assist ensure continuous data transfers. Furthermore, the drive is designed with characteristics that assist ensure a long operational life, such as 300,000 load/unload cycles and Advanced Sector Format technology. Advanced Sector Format technology employs a 4K byte-per-sector design with error-correcting code capabilities to improve data integrity while making better use of storage surface space.
